Hey there!
My name is Lindsey Milicia Vent, and I am the founder/pastry chef at Blackbird Pastries!
Let’s get personal..
In short, I have a deep-rooted love for Disney, and I believe in magic. My life also runs on Harry Potter, Star Wars, Marvel, DC, video games, music, singing, and LEGO’s (thanks to my husband). There’s probably more, but that’s a good enough glimpse into my quirkiness, any more might scare you away!
Nothing soothes my soul more than being with family and friends. I have an amazing, supportive husband, a beautiful baby boy and 3 fur babies.
And most importantly, when my dad lost his battle with Colon Cancer a few years ago, I became a full time caregiver to my mom. She has been battling Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for over 20 years, but you wouldn’t know it by her infectious attitude. Her strength and spirit are an inspiration, and providing the best life for her has become my life purpose.
Let’s go back to the beginning…
I grew up in a large and incredibly close Italian family where the most memorable moments had one common denominator: dessert. The sweet smiles, heartwarming laughter, and immense love made me realize that I wanted to bring other families together and help them create moments just like those.
Without a second thought, I decided to attend the prestigious Johnson & Wales University and after four years I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Baking & Pastry Arts. After years of being classically trained by executive chefs at many restaurants, bakeries, country clubs and hotels, I realized I wanted to be in control of how I impacted the world (doesn’t everybody?), and with a little nudge from family I formed what is now Blackbird Pastries.
Yes, the name is inspired by The Beatles.
